I am a dyed-in-the-wool historian. Even while at school, my attempts to comprehend interesting issues or phenomena would habitually lead me to the question: how has it come to be like this? I have been involved in serious scholarship focusing, inter alia, on antisemitism and proper, serious (i.e. Frankfurt School) Critical Theory for the best part of a quarter of a century and will continue to grapple with these issues as a scholar. The principal purpose of this blog is to present my critical commentary, ideas and occasional rants to a broader range of readers who may benefit from (or, as they should, be annoyed by) them. In addition, given my categorical rejection of the increasingly hegemonic postmodern-postcolonial assault on the legacy of the Enlightenment, I am finding it increasingly difficult to publish my scholarly texts and therefore need an additional outlet.

You can access my scholarly publications here.

Since the involuntary end of my academic career, I am forced to try and get by as a freelancer. For information on these activities, see here.

I also run a similar German-language blog that presents some of the same material but also touches on other issues more specific to the German-speaking world.
